A little about me

I have been dancing for over 20 years and am absolutely in love with Middle Eastern and Arabic dance (aka bellydance). It is such a liberating and empowering dance form and so much fun.  I am spell-bound by it – it is truly magical.

I attended bellydance classes in Bristol and have been to a wide variety of bellydance festivals, including Majma, Celebrating Dance, International Bellydance Congress and Sirocco.  I have also been to many workshops with dancers including Aziza, Randa Kamel, Mira Betz, Moria Chappell, Tara Lee Oakley, Khaled, Maria D’Silva, Farida Fahmy, Farah Nasri and Elis Pinheiro.

I felt, and still feel, so passionate and excited by this dance form that I wanted to pass the fun and enjoyment onto others and hence I started teaching.  I took the JWAAD Foundation Course in 2008 and in August 2012 I completed the  JWAAD Teacher Training Diploma Course, passing with a Distinction.   www.jwaad.com

I am the only bellydance teacher in North Somerset (and surrounding areas) who has this qualification.

I have also completed the A-Z Keti Sharif Dance course.  www.ketisharif.com

My aim as a teacher is to create a warm and friendly atmosphere in which people can feel relaxed to learn good, strong dance technique and have fun.  An important part of the dance for me is that it enables you to feel comfortable in your own skin and to enjoy who you are, as you are.  In class, you are a Goddess – so enjoy.
